Coffee With a Cop- Wednesday, June 7, 2023, 11 am to 12 pm

Chatham Police Department has launched Coffee with a Cop, designed to provide an opportunity for members of the community to have open conversations with their local police department about any concerns that they may have, or even just talk about their day and make a new friend. The program gives people the chance to connect with officers and see them for more than just their job.

A Chatham PD Officer will be at the Stewart’s Shops, located on Church Street in the Village of Chatham, on Wednesday June 7th, from 11AM to 12PM.

2023 Tax Bills

Unfortunately, the Summer 2023 Newsletter contains an error regarding the due date of Village taxes. The date is erroneously specified as July 1, 2022. The date should read July 1, 2023, which corresponds with the date noted on the tax bill. We apologize for the error.

Since July 1, 2023 falls on a Saturday, tax payments must be received by no later than Monday July 3, 2023. Real Property Tax Law § 925-a provides that if the final date for collection of taxes without penalty, or without additional penalty, falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, an extension for collecting taxes without such penalty or additional penalty is automatically effective until the first business day following such date.

Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 29, 2023

A parade through the village is part of the village’s 155th traditional Memorial Day observance, and Legionnaires and veterans are encouraged by Post Commander James Garvey to participate. The parade will line up at 10:45 a.m. at the postrooms on Woodbridge Avenue and step off at 11 a.m., proceeding over Woodbridge Avenue, up Kinderhook Street to Central Square, down Main Street to Hudson Avenue, and up Cemetery Hill.  Following services and remarks by Sheriff Krapf, the parade will continue down Hudson Avenue to Hoffman Street and back to the post.

Water Service Disruption

5/11/23 8:50 am: Water on Hudson Ave will be shut-off temporarily from Hoffman St. to the traffic light at Church St. due to a break in the water main. This disruption will be as brief as possible and water service will be restored soon.

Hudson Ave – Water disruption – 5/1/23

5/1/23 Water on Hudson Ave has been shut-off temporarily while work is being done to the water main. This disruption will be as brief as possible and water will be restored soon.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Make sure you gather your expired, unused, and unwanted medications and bring them on Saturday, April 22nd from 10AM to 2PM to the Chatham Police Department in Tracy Hall, Village of Chatham.

If you can’t make it on Saturday, April 22nd, Chatham Police Department has a Medication Drop Box located in the lobby of Tracy Hall that is available anytime the building is open or by appointment.

If you can’t make it to Chatham PD, you can visit Columbia County Sheriff’s Office or Hudson City Police Department
