Kinderhook Street will be NO PARKING on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 6:00am to 1:00pm. There will be NO THRU TRAFFIC beginning at 10:00am.  The Annual Firefighter Parade line up will begin at 10:00am and the Parade kicks off at 11:00am.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Laborers – This is routine manual work requiring no previous training and experience, but requiring physical endurance and willingness to perform menial tasks. Constant oversight is maintained over work at all times. Does related work as required.

  • Cleans and maintains the interior and exterior of buildings and grounds;
  • Performs unskilled work in concrete, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry and landscaping work;
  • Load and unloads trucks;
  • Carries supplies and tools (including 80lb bags of concrete);
  • Labor: work as needed
  • Performs a variety of grounds keeping activities including but not limited to: snow removal, mowing and trimming lawns, planting and weeding;
  • Willingness to perform routine manual work;
  • Ability to lift heavy weights;
  • Physical endurance;
  • Good physical condition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Class D Driving License

Police Reform Semi-Annual Info Meeting, August 25, 2022; 6:30pm

The Chatham Police Department will be hosting its Semi-Annual Information Meeting on August 25th, 2022, at 6:30 PM, at the Tracy Hall, 77 Main St, Chatham NY 12037. The meeting will be chaired by the Acting Chief of Police and Police Commissioner. As defined in the Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative of the Village of Chatham, the goal is to provide opportunities for the public to be informed about police policies, procedures, and practices. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, including people who Work, Live, and/or Shop in the Village of Chatham. There will be a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.
