CSX to close Main Street Crossing

CSX will shut down the Main street crossing starting Tuesday, January 25, 2022, for repairs. The crossing will be closed for approximately 2-3 days and NO TRAFFIC will be allowed to cross.

Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Tests

The Village of Chatham has received a LIMITED amount of Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Tests. They are available to residents 11:30am-2pm, while supplies last, 1 per household. Please call 518.392.5821 x3 to schedule a time to pick up at the Village Hall.

Christmas Trees

The DPW will pick up Christmas trees from your curb throughout the month of January.

01/03/2022, Until further notice, the Village Offices of Clerk and Treasurer will be minimizing in-person transactions and doing business through phone, mail, and email.  The Tracy building is still open, and masks are required to enter.

Possible Water interruption week of 12/27/21-12/31/21

UPDATE NOTICE –  Hydrant work is planned for Wednesday, 12/29/21 and Hudson Avenue residents may experience temporary water interruption due to routine Hydrant work.  The DPW will complete the work as quickly as possible to minimize interruption times.

Police Dept Semi-Annual Info Meeting

The Chatham Police Department will be hosting its first Semi-Annual Information Meeting on December 11th, 2021, at 1:00 PM, at the Tracy Hall, 77 Main St, Chatham NY 12037. The meeting will be chaired by the Acting Chief of Police and Police Commissioner. As defined in the Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative of the Village of Chatham, the goal is to provide opportunities for the public to be informed about police policies, procedures, and practices. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, including people who Work, Live, and/or Shop in the Village of Chatham. There will be a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.

Leaf collection

12/1/21 UPDATE: At this point, the DPW will try to complete the collection of the piles that are already waiting. Please do not create more piles, or add to existing. The last pass has already been done on many of the streets in the Village. The DPW will need to switch to winter weather management.
